Feasting and Fasting with the CFP
350 recipe cookbook published by the
Confraternity of Penitents. Soups, salads,
main dishes, desserts, herbal teas, appetizers,
and some surprise recipes. Vegetarian and
meat dishes from super simple to gourmet.
International as well as all-American.
Here are three sample recipes:
TUNA PATTIES
2 6 1/2 oz cans tuna fish, drained
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Mix well and add more bread crumbs if the
mixture is too wet to be formed into patties.
Form into 8 patties. Fry patties in hot oil in a
skillet, turning once to brown on both sides
COTTAGE CHEESE PANCAKES
4 eggs
1 cup cottage cheese
1/8 tsp. Salt
2 tbsp. Oil
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix all ingredients in blender. Fry on greased
griddle and serve with syrup, jam, applesauce,
or fruit. Makes 10 pancakes.
KOREAN BULKOKI (Broiled Meat)
3 1/2 lbs. Beef chuck sliced thin
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
4 green onions finely chopped
less than 2/3 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp. Sugar
2 tbsp. Sesame oil (or other vegetable oil)
1. Mix all but meat and oil.
2. Add meat and mix well with hands so that meat
absorbs the ingredients.
3. Add oil and mix well.
4. Let marinate in sauce, in refrigerator, for
about 7 hours.
5. Spread out and broil until done.
6. Serve with rice.
7. Enjoy your meal.
